Biography

Bogoan Kim is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information and Communication Engineering, Chungbuk National University, where he leads the HCI Lab.

His research sits at the intersection of human-computer interaction (HCI), digital health, and inclusive AI. He designs and empirically evaluates AI-infused systems—spanning mobile applications, VR-based interventions, and LLM-powered tools—grounded in multimodal behavioral data and participatory design. A particular emphasis is placed on preserving human agency in AI-driven processes and on the meaningful integration of AI into real-world workflows across diverse professional and social contexts.

His work has been published in top-tier HCI and CS venues including CHI, UIST, UbiComp, and VRST. He received his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Hanyang University, advised by Prof. Kyungsik Han, supported by the NRF of Korea Ph.D. Fellowship, and was a Jang Young-Sil Postdoctoral Fellow at KAIST.
