Biography
Bogoan Kim is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information and Communication Engineering, Chungbuk National University, where he leads the HCI Lab.
His research spans human-AI interaction, computing for well-being, embodied interaction in XR, and behavioral sensing. He designs and empirically evaluates AI-infused systems, from LLM-powered tools to VR-based interventions, that read multimodal behavioral signals and adapt to the people using them. A particular emphasis is placed on preserving human agency in AI-driven processes.
His work has been published in top-tier HCI and CS venues including CHI, UIST, UbiComp, and VRST. He received his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from Hanyang University, advised by Prof. Kyungsik Han, supported by the NRF of Korea Ph.D. Fellowship, and was a Jang Young-Sil Postdoctoral Fellow at KAIST.
